Since Toledo Bend Cabin launched we’ve been asked this question several times, “Where is the nearest beach?”. Toledo Bend lake is not known for its sandy beaches and excellent swimming conditions (swim at your own risk). With that said, however, there is a “beach” near Toledo Bend Cabin that we find fun to visit. Here is a map to it:
Beach area near Toledo Bend Cabin
In the map above I drew a yellow line to the beach area. We like to ride out to this beach area and dry dock our jet skis. This place is the closest naturally occurring thing that we can find to a beach near the Toledo Bend cabin. During the times we visited the “beach” the floor was sandy and had a gradual slope going into the water with no sudden drop-offs. We enjoyed sunbathing, looking for mussels, skipping rocks, and a few minutes of swimming. Be careful though. Toledo Bend is a big lake and choppy waters can churn up any time the weather changes. If a storm blows in while you are visiting the “beach” you might be better off to weather it out than to cross Toledo Bend in choppy waters.
